A simpatico, lively, culturally active and young university town with a medieval backdrop, in the shadow of Hamburg.

- A day at the beach in the sandy inlets of the Elbe beaches upriver starting from Lauenburg
- A cultural trip to the countryside in the Wendland region (every year between Ascension Day and Pentecost)
- Mountain bike trips in the Geesthang heights around Hitzacker
- Chilling out & grilling picnics in Lüneburg’s rambling city park
- Canoe trips on the Ilmenau

We all definitely need hot foamed milk

Where do you get the city’s most delicious espresso?
At the Bar Havana on Market-Place or after dinner at an Italian restaurant, as ever. The coffee shops all fail to serve pizza before it, which apparently makes a huge difference to the taste.
