Where do you come from?
We’ve lived together in the south part of Cologne for a year and a half.
Where do you like to meet with your friends?
We love to invite friends home to our place. We have a very cosy kitchen-cum-living-room, which makes it really fun to cook for friends. Our guests get a live cooking show and we can talk to them while we’re cooking. If we’re feeling too lazy to cook (which is rare ;-)), we like to go to a nearby Belgian seafood restaurant (a former printing plant) with friends.
Could you please describe a perfect Sunday?
Our perfect Sunday starts with a big breakfast, complete with fresh squeezed orange juice, milky coffee, a breakfast egg and croissants or rolls. We don’t even bother getting dressed for it.
Natalie: After breakfast, my favourite thing to do is go out into nature – physical exercise and fresh air is the nicest Sunday treat.
Dieter: I like to use the day off to take care of my private correspondence etc. Unfortunately, I don’t get a chance to do so during the week.
What three things are typical of your city?
Dieter: The cathedral, Kölsch beer, and the open-mindedness of the people
Natalie: Great restaurants, a wide range of cultural offerings, and the cathedral
Are you more Latte Macchiato or espresso types?
Dieter: Espresso type.
Natalie: More of a milky coffee type– I don’t like to drink coffee from a glass, and Latte Macchiato is too milky for me sometimes
How much sugar do you take in your espresso?
Dieter: yes
Natalie: no
